Become part of the GDL Coffee Break Podcast

I am excited to record the next episode of the GDL Coffee Break Podcast with you.

This podcast aims to provide an insight into the work routines, perspectives on global challenges and sources of inspiration from our dear GDL members.

Work routines: In the first segment, "work routines", I'd like to know what you are currently working on and what you do to get your things done. Maybe you have some practical advice you can share.

Perspectives on global challenges: due to your field of work, you might have a distinct perspective on pressing issues that get less attention in the daily news cycle than they should. Let us know what you think we should also focus on when discussing global challenges.

Sources of inspiration: it can be a quote from an influential individual, a specific event that you experienced or a dedicated family member. Whatever inspires you, feel free to share it and inspire others.

The podcast has a length of about 15 to 20 minutes. So every segment can only give a glimpse of your thoughts. Therefore, the show notes are essential. If you already know interesting links, sources, or publications you want to share that provide further information, please send them to us. If you like, you can send them to me before our recording. Otherwise, shortly after our conversation is also completely fine.

Some technical details:

For our podcast recording, we're aiming at getting the best possible sound quality and we'd greatly appreciate your help with that.

First, think about your surroundings. Ideally, you’d be in a room with little echo or reverb, like a room with a lot of clutter, bookshelves, soft furnishings.

Also, we'd like to ask you to record yourself using this professional yet simple smartphone app: https://talksyncapp.com/get-the-app (Open this link on your phone.) There’s no signup necessary. You can activate the app using a code that we'll give you at the beginning of the interview. We'll ask you to hold your phone close to your face or you can prop it up on a stack of bvieooks, so that it's about 20cm/10in away from your mouth. Angle it a little bit to the left or right, don't put it right in front of you.

The Talk Sync app only records, so we need Zoom to talk to each other. Zoom has to run on a separate device - perhaps your computer. It’s important that you wear headphones for the Zoom call.

In summary:

- phone with Talk Sync app

- second device for call, with headphones

- quiet, echo-less room

Before we set the recording date, let's have a short introduction via zoom. We can discuss the format, technical details and find a date for our recording. For the 30 minute introduction, please choose one of the following time slots:
